Astronaut Sophie Adenot (call sign KJ5LTN) used the amateur radio equipment aboard the International Space Station (call sign OR4ISS) to answer questions from young people in Veracruz, Mexico on Thursday July 23, 2026 at 17:07:12 UTC.
The Orizaba Planetarium in Veracruz is a public facility offering an immersive digital dome experience, established to promote science and technology. Models of the solar system and the International Space Station are on display. Twenty-one primary schools signed up for this ARISS event, and 600 pupils participated in the training.
This ARISS contact was a success. The signals were excellent, and astronaut Sophie Adenot gave very detailed answers. A total of 13 questions were answered.
The ARISS telebridge ground station ON4ISS in Belgium established a connection with the Planetario de Orizaba in Orizaba, Veracruz, Mexico. The AMSAT Belgium club station ON4ISS was operated by Jan ON7UX and Eric ON7QQ.
