30th AMSAT-UK Colloquium – 24-26 July 2015

Drew Glasbrenner KO4MA works sat FO-29

On July 25, 2015 Drew Glasbrenner M/KO4MA/p gave a demonstration at the AMSAT-UK International Space Colloquium in Guildford of working the amateur radio satellite FO-29 with a portable station consisting of two FT-817 and an Arrow antenna in mode V/U on SSB. At the same time, Drew gave detailed explanations.

Drew’s demonstration was followed by more than 30 radio amateur. Drew was assisted by Mike DK3WN.

The casual demo was a didactic lecture.

The members of AMSAT Belgium, non-profit association, are invited to attend the annual general meeting.

The general assembly will take place on Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 20:00 in the clubhouse of the Radio Club Leuven – Diestsevest 39 at Leuven. (The meeting room is located in the basement)

Agenda:

1. New members and outgoing members

2. Approval of the 2015 budget.

3. Financial report 2014 and discharge to the treasurer.

4. Election of Officers. Members can apply as a Candidate board member until the start of the meeting.

HamTV / HamVideo commissioning

Sunday 13 April 2014, Koichi Wakata, KC5ZTA, operated OR4ISS and successfully completed the HamVideo commissioning with ARISS team, HamTV on ISS. Commander Koichi Wakata congratulated ARISS for this achievement and answered a series of questions, prepared in the manner of a school contact. He also proceeded to a microgravity experiment.

Four ARISS ground stations (Poitiers, Bornemouth, Casale Monferrato and Livorno) took part in this final pass, and all together recorded the transmitted video and audio signal of about 6 minutes. The final HamVideo Commissioning Pass was performed flawlessly Sunday April 13 at 18.23 UTC.

OUFTI-1 on the launchpad

OUFTI-1 is a “real” satellite and will be launched by a launch vehicle and will be in orbit just like Hubble or the GPS constellation. It is now ready to go into space.

OUFTI-1 a small cubesat gets big

OUFTI-1 the first satellite project developed by students in Belgium get to be launched into orbit in 2015. A trip to space, the stars of Liège, whose preparation is nearing its end.

15th European Interparliamentary Space Conference (EISC)

The European Interparliamentary Space Conference (EISC) workshop on small, micro, nano and CubeSat missions took place on March 25 2013 Euro Space Center in Transinne and ESA Redu Centre, Belgium.

AMSAT Belgium and the UBA took advantage of the opportunity to demonstrate the engineering model of the AMSAT-UK FUNcube-1 satellite along with the FUNcube Dongle SDR for telemetry decoding.

The European Interparliamentary Space Conference (EISC) is established in 1999 as a permanent forum for interparliamentary co-operation in space between the European national parliaments interest in space policy, it aims at facilitating the exchange of information on space activities and at promoting mutual understanding of national policies through the provision of a forum for analysing the major issues at stake in the European space sector.

OUFTI-1 – ULg CubeSat – status June 2011
